Sister Delphine
This woman is from the Extreme Northern town of Maga. She is a member of Pastor Raymond Souboursous’ congregation. Her’s is a story unlike any that I have ever heard, a story of great faith, courage, and confidence in God. Several years ago, she came to a Christian service looking for answers in her life. When the preacher told the story of Jesus the Holy Ghost convicted the heart of Delphine. She made her way to the altar during the invitation and gave her life to Christ Jesus. The story sounds very familiar up to this point, but Delphine knew that her coming forward in this service and giving her life to Christ would have severe consequences. You see her husband is a Muslim and practices the religion of Islam. For her to make a break from that and come to Christ would indeed cost her. After many beatings and endless abuse both physically and mentally, he gave the ultimatum. Leave Jesus and that church, or get out of my house and take the children you have born to me with you. She chose Jesus.
It is not easy for a woman with three children to make it in a place like Maga without the support of a husband, but by the grace of God and the help of His people, she will make it. Please pray for sister Delphine and the children, and by all means pray for her husband that God would reach him with the power of the gospel.
